  • About the site :

It's amazing what you can accomplish with a little free time and an obsessive-compulsive disorder.

This blog began Fall of 2002 as an experiment in something or other. Since then, it's spiraled horribly out of control, becoming an all-consuming part of my life and a second full-time job.

This is the seventh version of the site and the first major overhaul in a couple years. V5 and V6 were very similar, graphically, and just got too busy and heavy for my liking - this latest edition is much leaner and cleaner and easier on the eyes.

The mandate of this site has always been, and will remain, to be about whatever tickles my fancy. Nothing more, nothing less. My interests are pretty much indie rock, movies, television, comic books and pop culture in general, so that's what you'll find here. If I someday develop a fascination for needlepoint or chinchillas, that's what you'll find here.

Since its inception, this site has become far more popular than I ever could have imagined. It's been an amazing way to meet new people, talk about utterly trivial things and otherwise just have a good time.

The name of this blog comes from the song "Chrome Waves" by UK band Ride, taken from one of my favourite albums (Going Blank Again) and bands ever, respectively.

The blog portion of the site from 2002 to October 2008 was built using the Nucleus CMS software. From October 2008 on, it uses Wordpress. Everything else is built by me in PHP and MySQL.

The image in the header was created by Toronto illustrator Renée Nault.

    Submissions & Reviews:

Sorry kids, but I'm no longer accepting unsolicited submissions in any format or medium. I already get more stuff than I could possibly look at let alone listen to and form an opinion about and have to try and stem the tide somehow. If fate decrees that your sounds and my ears should come together, then it will happen eventually. If not, good luck in your endeavours. Sincerely, the management.
