Ha! Just re-read my post from 2005 and am stupefied at my clairvoyance. I predict I'll be rich and retired in 2015, and hanging out with Chan Marshall in my free time. Also, the Canucks are going all the way this season.

Thursday's show was fantastic. I'm biased, naturally, but the setlist that evening surpassed the one from Wednesday. Alcoholiday + Everything Flows = winning roundhouse combo kick.

As for Elephant Stone, the openers on Thursday night, I'll admit I was leery when I saw the sitar (Cornershop came to mind, but not in a good way), but they were a pleasant surprise and had more than a brimful of good tunes.

Great description of the band, Frank. That's exactly how I see them, and maybe why I've stuck with them through many years, trends and challengers. (Coronation Street haircuts notwithstanding.)

Looks like both nights were great set lists, but no regrets that I chose Wednesday -- Thursday may have had Starsign, but we got more Songs from Northern Britain, and that's a place I'm happy to be.

You're quite charitable to Rick of the Skins, who were more than a little confounding. They bounced back and forth between engaging and atrocious. Suffice to say, they shouldn't do the slow quiet thing, as they do not do it well.

Trying to get my ears around the new BSP track, which is characteristically schizophrenic. But I'm up for the challenge!

Saw Wednesdays, great show and last nights set lists looked stellar. Sorry I missed it. Checked out the link to the 2005 show at the Mod Club & I have to say, Ovenking very prophetic. I want to know what your Stanley Cup pick is this year...
