Sounds like it was a great night, good that you were able to go. They work so well in that venue, and it obviously had great memories for them, too, or they wouldn't have returned. I'll never forget that show at the Music Hall, getting to chat with Win Butler pre-show, and being so impressed by then-unknowns Wolf Parade and Owen Pallett! Just couldn't get it together to make it out this time around. I especially liked your line, "attempting to jump the tracks at a certain point to grab sky", which really captures the essence of their early material, that sense that the songs would shift into a higher gear. While it was a trademark of sorts that set them apart, it's good to hear that they no longer rely on it. I guess you could say they have our attention now.

Great review. I went to the 2nd night and I think you nailed it with your take on "Neon Bible". Although I do love the album, Arcade Fire only played 2 songs from it (1 of which made a first appearance on their 1st EP). It's like in order to get into touring "game shape" they plunged into the new stuff and the older "Funeral" songs that got their hearts going. Will Butler was just tearing around the stage, showing just as much frantic joy as that first time I saw them at the Horseshoe Tavern, opening for Constantines.
