Coincidentally, I’d caught a bit of the Strummer documentary “The Future Is Unwritten” a few nights ago which motivated me to put on my Joe and The Mescaleros’ album “Global A Go Go” (a CD which I actually had got Mr. Strummer (R.I.P.) to sign when he did an instore at HMV at the time of the record’s release). Strummer’s death, what a loss.

John – no I didn’t. I actually had a decent single ticket claimed but after hitting checkout, it just hung for about 25 minutes before I gave up and shut it down. will try again on Friday, I guess.

so disappointed that there’s no vancouver date for ida maria/ladyhawke – ida obviously has a thing about vancouver having already cancelled her support slot with glasvegas earlier this year – i’m going to monolith so our paths should cross then (finally)

Funny you should mention the Mescaleros show in ’99. After Wilco played the Phoenix that same night a friend and I were talking to Tweedy outside and he mentioned that the band (Wilco) we heading off to the Joe Strummer show.
