cool - not surprised they're in, though it's some odd routing with Baltimore in the middle of a bunch of canadian dates. but that's their bus driver's problem, not ours.

i was going to offer up explosions in the sky, to make up for the canceled date, but according to their published plans via website, this is not the case. I'm actually relieved that the Islands festival was canceled when it was, or else we would be swimming/canoing there, given the municipal strike.

ryan - I'm not saying your Grizzly Bear theory jibes with stuff I've been told... but I'm not saying it doesn't.

Wait. I've lost track of my innuendos.

Just figured I would add a little more to the rumour mill, but Grizzly Bear just announced a fall tour, starting August 30th in NYC and there is no Toronto date, so perhaps they could be playing the Saturday at V-Fest. Not to mention Beach House is opening and it would be a great opportunity to make up for the cancellation of their Toronto Island date.

well, it appears both NIN and Pet Shop Boys are going to be performing on the Sunday, August 30. If they're the penultimate and final mainstage acts, that will be the strangest mosh pit ever.

A few acts that I think could play:

Phoenix- when they were interviewed by the Edge before their show last month, they said they would play Toronto again this year, and the only unfilled time until late November in their schedule is right around V.

Animal Collective- because theyre one of the few festival whores this year that is not already booked that weekend.

K'naan- local talent that has not for a while and is not playing a headlining show in Toronto.

Woodhands- Same reason as K'naan.

ricky - Blur are not coming
Paul - yup, updated the post with that info
MLM & Alan - I would definitely document a zombie TVZ set
Adam - good point, I should have checked their itinerary the way I did everyone else
Lucas - Sufjan's last TO show was at Trinity-St Paul's, so it wouldn't be anywhere smaller than that. With Fleet Foxes setting the precedent, maybe Massey Hall? But yeah, he just confirmed Pop Montreal so a Toronto date is almost fait accompli
