I saw last night’s Letterman appearance (complete with saxophoganza) and was kind of blown away – her intensity really surprised me. And I had to give the brass section a second look to make sure that wasn’t the National’s tourmate Colin Stetson with the, um, big horn.

well, both times I’ve seen her live have been wonderful so I remain optimistic. that Letterman performance was pretty terrific too.
