@Daniel: I was wondering the same thing. I'd love to spend my hard-earned money on two or three of these posters.

I just watched the takeawayshow of sundiailing:
http://www.dailymotion.com/...
For me, this is the most satisfying pick yet for the Polaris. (Although I would have been quite happy for Black Mountain to win, too.)

just another clarifying question about the process - do you happen to know how many votes an album has to receive by your grand jury in order to win? what if everybody picks something different except for 2 jurors, who choose the same record? is 2 votes enough for a win? not that that's a likely situation, but you never know.

that is correct. we were only released out into the wild because we didn't have information on the winner. we found out the same time as everyone else.

Also, by this:

"So when we were finally let out of the jury room and a winner selected (though not revealed to us)..."

do you mean you guys all debate over the winner and then vote, but you come out of the jury room not knowing who was actually picked until it's announced at the end of the night?

That Guardian thing is probably the dumbest thing I've read in some time. By a lame Canuck writer who likes to fancy himself as all highbrow British or whatever since he (OMG!) writes for the vaunted Guardian. He should stick to writing about theatre for the Globe -- whenever he ventures into music writing, it always comes off as totally sophomoric and ill-informed.

"And I much preferred the cat song on that one to the cat song on this one."

I guess it doesn't help that the 2nd cat song is probably the saddest song in the world...

Awesome write-up. Now I have to go listen to the Caribou album.
