yeah, I saw some photos from the Maggie Mae’s show and they definitely went nutso there. I guess it’s a bit too much to ask they do that every time they play, especially when it’s as often as during SxSW. I will definitely see them any time I get the chance, though. no worries there.

I hadn’t seen BSP since 2005 and was really disappointed in the Mohawk show. I only went to their showcase as I had no other plans for Sat 1am and a bunch of friends were going to be there. It was an entirely different experience. Really fantastic from the very first song all the way through the Colourmusic stage-rushed ending. Be sure to give them another shot.

agreed that it was smart to pick a showcase and stick with it, especially if it involves merge records. i seriously cannot think of bad band in that lineup, or on their roster generally. and glad your showcase appears to have been successful.

anyway, i’m just compelled to note that "san andreas" is, in fact a portastatic song, even though it sounds superchunk-y.

As much as I want spring & summer to arrive back here in Toronto/Southern Ontario, I’m not looking forward to scorching heat. So no complaining from me about winter continuuing to stick around as I know spring & summer will eventually arrive. Nice photo of Zooey!
