Plaster were brilliant. And Gnarls Barkley were pretty good too, especially Storm Coming. Muse was meh. Just loud.

though i missed the first couple of acts, you were spot on with the rest of your review. cutting the Lips short should have been the last thing the festival organizers should have done as they were the final act for a reason - because many people wanted to see them specifically!

the Dears were brilliant, and Muse a wonderful surprise (i didn't know their music beforehand) who did inject much needed energy at exactly the time i needed it to keep me going for the rest of the night. unfortunately, Gnarls Barkely nearly sapped all of that energy out of me with their set. they were wrong, wrong, wrong. the on-screen texting was the only thing keeping me going at this point.

Kid Koala was another pleasant surprise for me and i'll be purchasing his new album if only just for the name (i think i heard him say it's called your mom's favourite DJ).

I agree, Mike...the entire place could've burned down and I'd still have a smile on my face from the Lips' shortened set. I wanna hire them for my next birthday party!

A shame about The Flaming Lips' set being cut short. I've been fortunate enough to catch The 'Lips experience live a couple of times(Coachella '04, Sasquatch '06) previously and my brother saw them with me at Sasquatch, so we weren't as disappointed as others who this may have been their first 'Lips show. But this show was the first one I've been fairly close to the front for and OMG, at one point, when the confetti, streamers, balloons, and beach balls were all above the crowd, it was HEAVENLY. That moment was all I needed to leave satisfied that night.

ps. Gnarls Barkley were terrific. (Remember the text messages on the video screen?...A hilarious one was the one that said "I was promised CHARLES Barkley") :-)

I saw The Dears maybe three times in the span of a few months back in... 2001 or so? And while I appreciated their energy and intensity, I couldn't get into the songs at all. But we're both older and wiser now so I'll be giving Gang Of Losers a shot.

I meant to catch Eagles Of Death Metal, but I forgot that while the mainstage was a half hour behind, the second stage was not... so I missed them :(

I thought Muse was hands down the best and most energizing set of the entire weekend. They could have easily replaced BSS (yawn!) as the closers to the festival. You're right, they are totally cut out for the festival thing. Others could learn a few tips from them

i saw The Dears in a small bar back when No Cities was released. i'd heard nothing from there beforehand, only heard their name once or twice. but i was so immediately blown away by them that as soon as the show ended i went to the back of the bar where they'd set a small 4" wide table and got the album and as many ep's as my little wallet could afford at the time. they were breathtaking. so yeah, you either got a bum show and you were off that night, Frank :)
